II International Screenwriting Workshop" / "SCREENWRITING IN PARADISE
4 to 12 September 2010
James Fernald, head of the Screenwriting Department at the European Film College (Denmark) and former film development executive from Los Angeles, will be holding a one week workshop - Screenwriting in Paradise. This inspirational workshop will literally be held in paradise (Algarve, Portugal) and will be geared towards participants wanting the tools, fuel, and drive to write a feature film. All aspects of screenwriting will be covered, with an emphasis on character, inspiration, and dedication.
As special guest at this workshop will be Jan Harlan, executive producer of “The Shining”, “Full Metal Jacket”, “Eyes Wide Shut” as well as director of the feature documentary “Stanley Kubrick: a Life in Pictures”. Participants will have an unique opportunity to get into an intimate discussion with Jan about Kubrick's films.
Jan Harlan will talk about music as a scripting tool, about the importance of the opening of a film and many other script-related topics – and he’ll back up everything with practical examples.
